Sephora announced on March 25, 2020 that a live video conference will be held on April 10, 2020 where over 5,000 professionals will offer free Classes for Confidence.
This event is held in light of the surge of lay-offs across America due to the global pandemic, COVID-19
Sephora will be offering two different classes – Bold Beauty for the Transgender Community and Workforce and Workforce Re-entry.
While Classes for Confidence are typically complimentary, they have never been held anywhere except in specific Sephora locations. This nation-wide event will take place via video chat.
Sign-up sheets for the event can be found online at sephorastands.com. Sign up begins March 26, 2020 and ends April 8, 2020.
Since 2016, over 2,150 classes have been hosted, more than 77,000 people have been reached and 80% of participants reported increased confidence.
Classes for Confidence are just one branch of Sephora's newest diversity and inclusion initiative, We Belong to Something Beautiful.
Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Aaron Huang, will be speaking at the beginning of the event on the marginalization of women and those of the LGBTQ+ community in the workforce, and how Sephora will continue to fight for their rights.
This event is the first organized under the leadership of Huang in his new position.
Bold Beauty for the Transgender Community and Workforce was a bronze winner at the Clio Awards for Fashion and Beauty in 2019.
